Greater Nizwa Structure Plan aims to establish a comprehensive developmental and spatial framework designed to transform Nizwa into an attractive hub for knowledge and innovation, while also strengthening its cultural and historical significance. Greater Nizwa is considered one of the major cities in the Sultanate of Oman, spanning an area of approximately 370 million square meters and encompassing the Wilayat of Nizwa along with parts of the Wilayats of Manah and Birkat Al Mouz. The structure plan also focuses on providing urban and planning solutions to address the challenges facing the city and on transforming these challenges into developmental opportunities.

Nizwa Structure Plan seeks to reduce unplanned urban sprawl and encourage multi-centered planning, in order to achieve optimal use of available land and provide an urban environment that supports the current population while accommodating the anticipated population growth.
Natural and Water Resources Management: This strategy is based on addressing potential climate challenges through the efficient management of water resources and the adoption of green solutions to enhance environmental sustainability.
Enhancing Infrastructure and Public Services: Nizwa Structure Plan aims to develop infrastructure that accommodates population growth and meets future requirements, including the expansion of transportation networks and the improvement of public facilities.
Promoting the Tourism Sector: This pillar focuses on enhancing heritage sites such as Nizwa Souq and Tanuf Castle, in addition to strengthening tourism infrastructure and developing new services to improve the visitor experience.
Promoting Local Industries: The structure Plan aims to develop traditional handicrafts, such as pottery and souvenirs, for which Nizwa is renowned, in order to strengthen the local economy and enhance the quality of Omani products.
